Sycure
Estate access control

Know who enters your estate, when, and who approved it

Sycure is one system for residents, guards, and estate managers. Residents pre-authorize visitors, guards verify them at the gate in seconds, and every entry is written to a record you can trust.

Access control, enforced by the system

  • Estate-specific authorization
  • One-time visitor codes
  • Every entry logged
  • Role-based access
  • NDPA-aligned data handling
Why estates switch

The gate is still run on paper and phone calls

Most estates approve visitors through WhatsApp groups, a paper register, and a call to the gate. It is slow, it is easy to fake, and when something goes wrong there is no record of who approved whom.

No verifiable record

A signature in a notebook can't tell you which resident actually authorized a visitor — or whether they were even home.

Approvals that don't scale

One security post, hundreds of homes, and a queue of visitors waiting on a resident to pick up the phone.

Access that outlives its purpose

A code shared on WhatsApp works forever, for anyone, at any gate it was ever used at.

How it works

Three steps, one record

The resident authorizes. The guard verifies. The estate keeps the receipt.

  1. 01

A resident generates an access code

In the app they add the guest's name, the reason for the visit, and a detail to spot them by. Sycure issues a one-time code, valid only at their estate.

  2. 02

A guard verifies it at the gate

The guard enters the code in the verifier app. Sycure checks it against the estate's records and shows a clear result — no phone call to the resident.

  3. 03

    The estate keeps the record

Every verification — verified, rejected, expired, estate mismatch — is written to the activity log with a timestamp and the guard who made the call.

For your team

One system, three jobs

Residents, guards, and estate managers each get an interface built for their part of the same flow.

Resident app

Authorize a visitor before they arrive

Generate a one-time Guest Code for a single visitor — or an Event Code for a group — and share it however you like. Get notified the moment they're verified at the gate.

  • A Guest Code for one visitor, an Event Code for many
  • Add the reason for the visit and a detail to spot them by
  • See every code you've generated and its current status
  • Get a live notification when a guest is verified

Security

Trust boundaries built into every check

Sycure is access control first. The rules that make a pass valid are enforced by the system, not by whoever is on the gate that night.

Estate-specific authorization

A pass is bound to one estate. Present it anywhere else and it fails — cross-estate reuse is designed out.

One-time codes

Each code is issued for a single visit on a specific day. Once it's used or the day passes, it stops working.

Scoped guard access

Estate administration decides which guard verifies at which gate. Access is explicit and revocable.

A record you can't quietly edit

Every verification and the reason behind it is written to the activity log with a timestamp and the guard who made the call.

Every check resolves to one clear state

  • VerifiedCode valid, estate and window matched
  • ApprovedGuard admitted the visitor
  • PendingAwaiting a resident decision
  • ExpiredPresented outside its time window
  • RejectedGuard denied entry
  • Estate mismatchRight code, wrong estate

FAQ

Questions estates ask first

  • What does a resident need to generate a code?

The Sycure resident app and an active account on an estate that's onboarded to Sycure. A code takes the guest's name, the reason for the visit, and a short description.

  • What's the difference between a Guest Code and an Event Code?

A Guest Code authorizes one visitor. An Event Code clears a group of attendees for the same event, so you don't generate a code per person.

  • What does a guard need at the gate?

The Sycure verifier app on an Android device with internet connectivity. Verification happens in real time against the estate's records.

  • Does a visitor code work at any estate?

No. Every code is bound to the estate that issued it. Entered at any other gate, it fails verification.

  • What happens to our existing paper register?

It's replaced by the digital gate log. Every verification — approved or rejected, with the reason and the guard — is recorded automatically and can be exported.

  • Can we run more than one estate on Sycure?

Yes. Estate managers can administer multiple estates from one dashboard, with guards scoped to the correct gates.

  • How is our data handled?

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and access is scoped by role and estate. Sycure aligns its data handling with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
